Two children charged after an 11-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed in Frankston

Police have charged two children after they allegedly stabbed an 11-year-old girl in Melbourne’s southeast in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The girl was allegedly approached by a trio of kids in Gallery Lane near the Bayside Shopping Centre in Frankston about 12.15am.

They allegedly demanded she hand over her mobile phone and personal items before stabbing her several times with a sharp implement.

Transit police officers quickly responded to the incident and arrested the three children.

The 11-year-old Port Melbourne girl was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 14-year-old Frankston boy and 12-year-old Highett girl have both been charged with armed robbery and assault.

The duo were summonsed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

An 11-year-old girl from Carlton was released by police pending summons.
