RHOC Gina Kirschenheiter Admits Co-Parenting With Her Estranged Husband Is A Disaster Of A Si

Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter has been relatively quiet about her nasty divorce from estranged husband Matt ever since he allegedly assaulted her back in June. But, during her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kirschenheiter opened up a bit about their new parenting arrangement for their three children – Nicholas, 7, Sienna, 5, and Luca, 4.

Kirschenheiter didn’t want to reveal many details about the major change in her family dynamic, but when Cohen asked her about co-parenting with Matt, she said that they are making things work the best they can.

“It’s, um, it’s going, We are doing that. We communicate on Talking Parents, which is like a government website, which I think is really healthy for us right now,” explained Gina. “And we communicate about the kids and for the kids. I mean, I have to say, for such a disaster of a situation, I actually think it’s probably okay, as best as it can be.”

Gina filed for divorce from Matt in the spring of 2018, and the split appeared to be amicable for more than a year. In mid-June of 2019, Gina posted a sweet birthday tribute to Matt on Instagram. But, just days later, police arrested Matt on domestic violence charges after he allegedly broke into Gina’s house and assaulted her.

The 35-year-old immediately filed for a restraining order against Matt, and a few weeks later prosecutors officially charged him with “willfully and unlawfully inflicting corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition” for Gina.

However, the exes were able to reach a custody agreement in July for their three kids, and the judge in their case has signed off on their divorce, which will go into effect on January 1, 2020. The court awarded Gina $10,000 per month in spousal and child support, but Matt is attempting to lower that amount because he lost his job after his arrest. The couple is due back in court later this month.

During her WWHL appearance, Gina also shared her thoughts about Kelly Dodd saying her children “run amok” during an RHOC confessional. Gina said that the comment upset her because she feels like there are lines that you don’t cross, and children are one of them.

Gina Kirschenheiter explained that Kelly Dodd usually doesn’t even know what she is saying, and this was probably one of those times. She also said that Dodd texted her to apologize, and she could tell that her co-star meant it and understood that she had crossed the line.
