Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2: Everything Fans Need To Know, Including New Photos

Earlier this week, HBO teased Game of Thrones fans by releasing 14 pics from the upcoming second episode of Season 8 – which still has no title – and the photos pretty much reflected the episode’s trailer. During the season premiere episode titled “Winterfell,” the White Walkers destroyed a Northern castle, but it was far enough away from the main characters that it didn’t cause any major damage. However, this week their luck might just run out.

The second episode of the final season will feature Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) arriving at Winterfell just in time to let Jon Snow (Kit Harington) know that the Night King is coming. And, the unlikely group that has gathered to fight the Army of the Dead includes Arya (Maisie Williams), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Jorah (Iain Glen), and Varys (Conleth Hill).

Three of the photos from episode two show different angles of a meeting between the group.

The trailer also shows Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) – who fans saw during the final seconds of the premiere arrive just in time for an awkward confrontation with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright). And, now the question is what will happen when they start talking.

In the other photos that HBO released, fans get a glimpse of Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) at the meeting with Jon Snow, and also Tarly in bed with Gilly (Hannah Murray) and his adopted son. There is also Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) with cup in hand, Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) standing together outside, and little Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) in full armor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second episode should also feature a tense meeting between Jaime and Daenerys. It will be the first time they have come face-to-face, and the Dragon Queen might not want to hear his reasons for killing her father, Aerys.

Could Jaime find help from Bran? Or, maybe he will find an ally in Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie)? None of the first-look photos from the second episode show anyone from the King’s Landing storyline – so no Cersei (Lena Headey).

This could mean that storyline will be put on hold during the season’s second-shortest episode. Fans will just have to wait and see.
